Every stage of the custody lifecycle is executed by trained operators against written procedure, then evidenced in the record. Engineering judgement and inspection discipline are what turn a procedure on paper into a barrel you can prove.

The Custody Lifecycle
A storage customer is buying a process, not just steel. This is the process — stage by stage, with the records each stage produces.
Product Receipt
Every receipt begins before the product arrives: nomination review, quality documentation check, tank allocation and a verified line-up. On arrival — by vessel, pipeline or truck — opening gauges or meter readings are taken, first-foot samples drawn where applicable, and receipt proceeds under continuous monitoring until closing measurement.
Storage Management
In storage, product is managed against its service envelope: level and temperature monitoring, roof position on floating-roof tanks, water draw-off checks and periodic circulation or heating where the grade requires it. Tank status is reviewed daily against the stock ledger.
Quality Monitoring
Quality is protected, sampled and evidenced — not assumed. Samples are drawn at receipt, in storage on a defined cadence or before any movement, and at redelivery. Retained samples are sealed and stored per the agreed retention protocol an agreed retention protocol; testing is performed by an accredited independent laboratory against the grade's specification sheet.
Inventory Control
Every parcel is reconciled daily: physical gauging versus book stock, receipts and deliveries versus movement orders, with gains and losses computed and explained within agreed tolerances. Customers receive stock statements on a defined cadence an agreed reporting cadence and may verify holdings through their appointed surveyor at any time.
Transfer Coordination
Movements are scheduled through a single coordination point that owns the movement order: quantity, route, line-up, rates and timing. Marine movements add berth scheduling, agent liaison and ship–shore planning; pipeline movements add batch windows agreed with the connected party.
Documentation Process
Each operational event generates its record at the moment it happens: gauge tickets, meter tickets, sample labels, ship/shore checklists, movement orders and stock statements. Documents are version-controlled, signed by the responsible operator and — where custody is affected — countersigned by the surveyor. The file for any parcel can be reproduced for audit in full.
Cargo Release Procedures
Product leaves the terminal only against authenticated release instructions from the party entitled to it, verified per the release protocol agreed at onboarding — including callback verification for high-value releases. Closing measurement, final documentation and confirmation to the customer complete the movement.
