ISGOTT Compliance
Marine operations follow the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals — the governing reference for ship–shore petroleum transfer. In practice: pre-transfer conferences, jointly signed ship/shore safety checklists, agreed maximum transfer rates and emergency shutdown criteria, defined roles for terminal and vessel watch-keepers, and stop-work authority for any participant when conditions change.
- Ship/shore safety checklist on every call
- Pre-transfer conference & agreed ESD criteria
- Continuous watch during cargo operations
Environmental Stewardship
Petroleum storage carries environmental obligations that outlast any single contract: secondary containment maintained around all tankage, vapor management appropriate to product class, drainage systems that separate clean and potentially contaminated water, spill response equipment positioned and exercised, and monitoring under our environmental monitoring programme. Environmental performance is reported through the same governance chain as safety.
- Bunded containment & interceptor drainage
- Vapor management by product class
- Spill response equipment & drills a defined cadence
Risk Management
Operational risk is managed through a formal cycle: hazard identification for every routine and non-routine task, risk assessment with defined tolerability criteria, permit-to-work control for hot work, confined space entry and line breaking, management-of-change review before any modification to plant or procedure, and incident investigation feeding corrective actions back into the system.
- Permit-to-work: hot work, confined space, line break
- Management of change on plant & procedures
- Incident investigation with tracked actions
Safety Culture
Systems fail without a workforce that uses them. The terminal operates on stop-work authority for every person on site, contractor induction and competence verification before unescorted access, toolbox talks preceding non-routine tasks, and near-miss reporting treated as intelligence rather than blame. Leadership reviews safety performance with the same cadence as commercial performance.
- Universal stop-work authority
- Contractor induction & competence checks
- Near-miss reporting & learning reviews
Emergency Response Planning
Emergency response is planned, resourced and rehearsed: scenario-based response plans covering fire, spill, medical and security events; trained emergency teams on every shift; firefighting and containment resources matched to the tank farm's risk profile; mutual-aid and port authority coordination agreements established mutual-aid and port-authority arrangements; and exercises on a defined cadence a defined exercise cadence with lessons folded back into the plans.
- Scenario-based response plans
- Trained response capability on shift
- Exercised with port authorities a defined cadence
Operational Governance
Compliance is structural, not aspirational: documented policies owned at board level of Crude Tankers III AS, a management system that assigns every procedure an owner and review date, internal audit against the system, and external verification where certifications are held. Records are maintained audit-ready — for regulators, insurers and customers alike.
- Board-owned policy framework
- Procedure ownership & review cycle
- Internal audit; external verification where held
